Blind FaithFor this exhibition I decided to produce another conceptual piece. Titled "Hiding Place," it was accompanied by the following text: There is a picture - a beautiful picture that can enrich your life. It's in this box, in its special place. But you can believe me that it's there. I've seen the effect it has on people and those that get to see it really like looking at it. I can prove it exists, because the camera with which the picture was taken is just there, next to the box. Also, the box is from Amazon, so it must be a good thing inside, something you've always wanted. The thing is, only a rare and special few have seen the picture - they all say it's amazing. Do you believe them? Do you believe that there is a beautiful picture in the box? But how will you really know without looking? Don't you trust me? Do you believe I'm telling you the truth? Not everyone can handle seeing the picture, so you're better off just having faith that it's there and lifting up your spirit, safe in the knowledge that you're so close to something beautiful and that some day you will get to see it...just may be not today. Do you have faith that it's in the box, in its special hiding place, or will you lift the lid...? To recreate the concept online, I've shown you images of the art as it was presented to the viewer in the exhibition. If you want to lift the lid now, click the link below to see what's inside. Forward to Hiding Place InternalIn addition to my own work, I also presented a video piece of Yvonne reading one of her poems - I am merely cameraman, the concept is Yvonne's. See the result, 'Blind Alley', below:
